$2.5 Million Grant Toward the Historic Administration Building

December 2024

The Administration Building at Estes Park Center has been welcoming guests since 1910. For more than a century, it has been the first place they arrive — the front porch where families sit with their coffee in the mountain air, the hub where every adventure begins. It deserves to stand for another hundred years.

We are pleased to announce a new $2.5 million grant from the Stanley and Joyce Rawley Foundation toward the Administration Building renovation — one of the largest capital projects in the Climbing Higher campaign.

"The Rawley Family Foundation chose to participate in this project because we believe the Administration Building is a historic building that must remain functional and be maintained in order to have it still standing for another century."

— Craig Rawley, Stanley and Joyce Rawley Foundation

Craig and Suzanne Rawley have a long history at YMCA of the Rockies — Suzanne attended summer camp in her youth, and the family has been enjoying Estes Park Center for years. They are cabin donors and have previously supported projects including the Hyde Chapel renovation. Craig Rawley also serves on the Rocky Mountain Leadership Council.

Together, visionary supporters have raised 36% of the $9.2 million project total. Renovations will honor the building's historic Western Stick architecture while adding a new casual café, full-service coffee bar, updated staff offices, a conference room, and sustainability upgrades, including a solar energy system and Level 3 EV chargers.

YMCA of the Rockies celebrates the Stanley and Joyce Rawley Foundation's remarkable act of generosity that will provide a more inviting and transformative experience for future families, groups, youth, and staff.
