Construction Begins on Camp Chief Ouray’s New Administration Building
Each year, more than 3,000 young people between the ages of 7 and 17 are welcomed to Camp Chief Ouray for a premier summer camp experience. Camp Chief Ouray is located in Granby, Colorado, on YMCA of the Rockies' 5,100-acre Snow Mountain Ranch property.
Today, we are excited to share that funding is complete and construction is underway on a new Camp Administration Building.
This milestone is possible thanks to a lead gift of more than $1 million from an anonymous supporter, along with the generosity of others who share a deep commitment to developing leaders and creating opportunities for youth through the Climbing Higher Campaign.
Located next to the recently completed Schlessman Family Camper Hub, the new building will provide a dedicated home for camp operations while creating a welcoming first point of contact for campers, families and guests.

Executive Director of Camp Chief Ouray, Miranda Wyatt, shared:
“Having a dedicated Administration Building will make a real difference in how we serve our campers and families. Our team will have the space and resources to work more effectively while being closer to the center of camp.”
Join us in celebrating this critical investment in YMCA of the Rockies' ability to grow and serve future generations of campers.
