A Place to Restore: The New Center for Well-Being at Estes Park Center

August 2025

Even in the middle of the Rocky Mountains, life has a way of following you. The stress, the noise, the weight of everything that needed to happen before you could get here. The new Center for Well-Being at Estes Park Center was built for exactly that moment — the one where you finally get to put it down.

Opened in August 2025, the 2,000-square-foot facility offers yoga, Pilates, mindfulness programs, and massage therapy, alongside an outdoor yoga platform with panoramic mountain views. It is the first purpose-built wellness facility in YMCA of the Rockies' history.

"People often ask why we come back to the YMCA of the Rockies when there are so many other places to see. I tell them it restores my soul."

— Steve Goldmann, Lead Donor

The project was made possible by lead donors Steve and Bette Goldmann and nine additional donor families. It is also one of the most sustainable buildings on campus — featuring solar panels, an electric heat pump, enhanced insulation, and the first Level 3 EV charger at Estes Park Center, funded in part by a Charge Ahead Colorado grant.

"Even here in the mountains, things can get hectic. This will be a place of peace and relaxation — a symbol of our commitment to inspiring creativity and spiritual well-being, leading in environmental responsibility, and providing transformational hospitality."

— Julie Watkins, President and CEO, YMCA of the Rockies

The Center for Well-Being is part of the Climbing Higher campaign — the most transformational philanthropic undertaking in YMCA of the Rockies' history.
