Bring your family to one of YMCA of the Rockies’ fall themed weekends. Join us for our traditional events including Fall Fest where guests can enjoy pumpkin painting, s’mores around the campfire, an old fashioned line dancing and much more! Then, experience frightful family fun at the Halloween Spooktacular by getting into the spirit of Halloween by dressing in costume, participating in spooky activities and trick or treat throughout the YMCA! Birding Workshop with Scott Rashid - SOLD OUT

YMCA of the Rockies - Estes Park Center is proud to host Scott Rashid, director of the Colorado Avian Research and Rehabilitation Institute (CARRI), who will present a 2 day, 3-night workshop on birds of the Rocky Mountains. Learn more about this unique mid-week opportunity here.
Master Naturalist Multi-day Workshops
September 7-8, September 13-14, September 20-21, October 11-12 or October 18-19
Join the YMCA Outdoor Education Staff to become a Master Naturalist! Over the course of two days you will learn how to ID common plants and animals in a forest and riparian ecosystem, learn about the formation of the Rocky Mountains, and learn the science behind wildfires. At the end of the course you will be awarded a Master Naturalist certification and celebrate with a campfire! Watercolor Painting Workshops - SOLD OUT
Wednesday, September 22 & Thursday, September 23
YMCA of the Rockies hosts artist Sarah Uhl, for two creative workshop opportunities this September! Sarah will be teaching two watercolor classes including a basic watercolor painting and watercolor journal class over the course of two days during the fall season. Enjoy a getaway to the Rocky Mountains while exploring your creativity through water color painting! Registration required, learn more about these autumn creativity workshops and more here.
Saturday, October 2, 1pm - 4:30pm
Celebrate the fall season with traditional autumn activities! Enjoy pumpkin painting and crafts, make pinecone bird feeders, hay rides to view the fall foliage and a delicious caramel apple bar. Gather the family for a fun afternoon of live music by Cowboy Brad from 2pm - 3pm and line dancing from 3:30pm - 4:30pm! Festivities will occur at Dorsey Museum.
Fall Break Wild West Activities
October 9 - 29
Visit the YMCA during your student's fall break for a fun, wild west adventuer! Every Saturday, enjoy the "Wild West Rodeo," including horseshoes & bottle toss, stick horse racing, lasso station, a music station and more! On October 9 & 16 at 7pm join in family-friendly line dancing!
Other activities throughout the wild west fall break include, an old west photo booth, panning for gold, origami cowboy hats, Rocky Mountain journals, ice cream and root beer (begistration required)
guided hikes through early homesteads in Estes Park, western-themed coloring pages and much more!

Dress in your Halloween costume, participate in spooky activities, and do some trick or treating to get in the spirit of Halloween with the YMCA of the Rockies! Enter if you dare, the family-friendly haunted forest with creepy surprises sure to bring a smile to your face!
Turkey Trot 5K
Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 25
Join YMCA of the Rockies on Thanksgiving morning for the annual 5K Turkey Trot! Get out and get active before celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday! Walkers and strollers are welcome to participate in the race. Dogs are also welcome, as long as they remain on a leash. Check-in at the Hempel Auditorium beginning at 7am and the race will begin shortly after at 8am. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st place female, 1st place male, and the 1st place person 16 and under. The YMCA of the Rockies Turkey Trot is free and open to the public, free-will donations will be accepted to support the camper scholarship program.
