Theme Weeks
Each week at Camp Chief Ouray is centered around a theme. We will have activities and events that focus on the themes and the staff often dress up to play related characters. The themes for 2010 have been set! Find your session below and feel free to bring an outfit to fit the theme if you wish. (Note: This isn’t required, but it makes camp a lot more fun!)
Session 1- Intl. Sports Week (in honor of the World Cup)
Suit up for this week because basketballs, baseballs, kick balls, carpet balls and more will be flying all this week as camp shows off its international colors. International sports celebrities will be making appearances as camp shows its love for international events.
Session 2- Super Hero Week
Ever dream of being able to fly, have superhuman strength, see through walls, or run at incredible speeds? Your dreams will be answered this week as camp gets sent through a gamma radiation blast and emerges as superheroes! Get ready to save the day!
Session 3- Earth Week
Show your love for mankind’s greatest treasure! Help protect its beauty from all would be threats…whether from this planet or not!
Session 4- Holiday Week
ireworks on the fourth of July? Ok, that’s not so strange…but Christmas in July? Trick or treating in the summer sun? Everyday being your birthday? Only at CCO does all of this make sense! (Free bus transportation to camp this week.)
Session 5- Mystery Week
Put together the pieces, solve riddles, and discover the final clue this week at camp! Help solve complex, perplexing mysteries alongside super sleuths like Sherlock Holmes and Scooby Doo.
Session 6- Wild West Week
Travel to the land and the time that nobody thought could be tamed. Duel gunslingers, ride a few horses, and strike gold this week as camp visits the days of the Wild West.
Session 7- Rock-On Week
From classic rock to contemporary pop, camp will be traveling through the wonderful world of music. Tune your guitar and don your spandex pants and get ready to rock like you never have before!
Session 8- Time Travel Week
Build a time machine or simply jump into a random red phone booth and travel through time to visit cavemen, fight as a knight in the middle ages, help build the pyramids of Egypt, and even get a glimpse into the future.
Session 9- Epic Week
The title says it all. Everything that one deems as epic will be found in this week. Watch as Harry Potter wills against Frodo Baggins, Jack Sparrow has a battle of the wits with Indiana Jones, and everything you thought was impossible becomes reality this week at CCO.
