Wintery Splendor
I've had the pleasure of staying and skiing at Snow Mtn. Ranch three times now.  My most recent visit was during the 2009 New Year holiday period.

While not having the glitzy facade of "high-end" ski resorts, this place certainly provides an exceptional XC ambience and variety of terrain that caters to both leisurely skiers and the gonzo lung-busting types.  The XC ski center's manager Jeff and staff are extremely friendly and helpful folks who reflect the purity and joy of the sport.

Conveniences of onsite dining and multiple recreational facilities provide lasting memories of wintery splendor and fun for families of all ages.

To quote the "Governator" (dear Arnold) of California: "I'll be back".

Cross Country Skiing
Last February, my wife and I made a return trip to skiing the trails at Snow Mountain Ranch - YMCA of the Rockies. The experience was terrific. We're not "pro" skiers but found the range of difficulty fun to experience --and we have the most difficult yet to try! We stayed in the main lodge in a simple room and it was fine. No TV was welcomed. Free wireless was a bonus. That Colorado sun in the morning! We had great views and great pictures.

I recommend this experience. It was very good value and one can not say enough about the trails and accomodations, including the nordic center. Even in June I can still appreciate the warm chili at noon after a morning of workout.

My kids love Snow Muntain Ranch
We come and stay every winter.  Besides the amazing mountain scenery, the activities are so fun.  Our kids read the program bulletin the minute they arrive and keep themselves busy all day.  Our favorite last year was the sledding and tubing hill.  I will never forget all the kids and Dad on the same tube laughing so hard they could barely hold on to each other.
It is a wholesome place for families to vacation.  We are all happy when we come here.

Gorgeous - One of those things that is as good as you expect it to be - even better
The view from the Hermosa cabin has got to be one of the best scenic views anywhere in the States, certainly the best I've ever observed, and I was able to gaze at it getting up in the morning, during breaks, during meals and before going to bed. A person can really find him/herself there. Beautiful.

Great for kids too. There was never a dull moment.

Best Experience So Far
I visited the Snow Mountain Ranch in July 2002 for the Teen Leadership Conference. I was part of the San Antonio group. The facilities were nice and so were the fellow teens and counselors. I loved the weather. It's better than here in South Texas, where it is mostly hot. I am planning on going back in 2003 to enjoy another summer with the Y.

When I was 23!
Over 20 years ago, I entered that Colorado heaven called Snow Mountain Ranch as a summer employee. One of my dearest memories was a moonlight hike 7000 ft. up. Another was hearing John Denver sing at the Red Rocks Stadium. Did I mention the columbine, the hummingbirds, or the campfires in the woods?

Getting Closer To God
My wife and I came closer to God and to each other as the result of our trip with 105 friends from Galena Assembly of God from Galena,Ks. The accomidations were pristine, the food wonderful and plentifil, the scenery breathtaking, the staff friendly, and the Chapel Services we held nightly were annointed and blessed. We will be back, again and again.

Bergen Church retreats
Our church, under the former leadership of Pastor Conrad Rolland, "retreated" to Snow Mountain Ranch several times. Our family has many fond memories of those retreats and hopes to be able to go back possibly next summer with our sons-in-law and grandchildren. We will will make some more memories of Beautiful Colorado!

The Greatest Place on the Earth
As a Family Reunion Leader and his wife were checking out last week, I asked them about their experience. They both responded with positive comments and then the women added, "My son (who is nine) thinks  that  you  should change your name" "He thinks you should change the name from Snow Mountain Ranch to The Greatest Place on the Earth."
