Traditional Camp (Ages 8-15)

Good old-fashioned camp!

For a century, Camp Chief Ouray has been the adventurous playground for boys & girls from around the world. 

Traditional Camp is designed to provide fun and growth through a series of exciting experiences in a beautiful mountain setting. Special attention is given to the development of positive human relations, leadership and character development.

             

This Program is based on a progression of age-appropriate activities with children of similar age and ability. Campers also have the opportunity to participate in the additional activities below.

• Archery
• All-Camp Dance
• Riflery
• Sports & Games
• Camp Craft Skills (Orienteering, Firebuilding, Knots, Nature study)
• Cooperative Games
• Swimming (Indoor Pool)
• Campout (One night)
• Hiking
• Arts & Crafts
• Nature Study
• Canoing (ages 12-15)
• Teambuilding Challenges (Low Ropes)

Activities requiring advance registration and additional fees:

Rafting (ages 9+) $65
Challenge Course (ages 12+) $25
Horseback Riding Instruction (ages 8+) $150
Beginner Trail  Ride (ages 8+) $12
